About Us

A Community Working Together

As a community-based setting, we truly value the warmth, goodwill, and involvement of our families. Your support and participation help make our setting a special place where children feel loved, supported, and inspired to learn. We’re proud to be a close-knit community where parents’ voices matter and where families help shape the service we provide.

Together, we create the best possible start for every child.

In our setting we work collaboratively to ensure that every child:

  • Is cared for and thrives in a safe and stimulating environment
  • Receives generous care and attention thanks to our high ratio of qualified staff to children
  • Has opportunities to play, learn, and grow alongside other children and adults
  • Is supported to build on their existing knowledge and skills, encouraging continuous learning and development
  • Has a dedicated key person who ensures they make satisfying and meaningful progress
  • Belongs to a setting that values parents as partners in every child’s learning journey
  • Builds friendships and social skills through play, learning, and shared experiences
  • Grows in confidence and ability, supported to build on what they already know
  • Benefits from strong partnerships with parents, working together to support learning and development
  • Is part of a community where families help shape our service and contribute to ongoing improvement

Working Together for Your Children

At our setting, we maintain the required adult-to-child ratios set out in the Statutory Framework for the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).

This allows us to:

  • Recognise and celebrate the unique child
  • Engage in meaningful conversations about children's interests and activities with their families to ensure the very best early years experience
  • Support each individual child’s learning journey so they can fully enjoy and benefit from our activities
  • Encourage safe exploration and adventure in a secure environment

Children’s Development and Learning

Our approach to children’s development and learning is guided by the Non-statutory Guidance for the Early Years Foundation Stage (Birth to Five Matters).

We follow the four key themes and 16 commitments of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) to ensure every child receives high-quality care and education.

We are also fully guided by the Statutory Framework for the Early Years Foundation Stage, which sets out the legal and regulatory requirements for early years settings.

Both in and outdoor environments are zoned in line with the characteristics of effective learning. We have an active learning zone and creating and thinking critically zone which enhance the children’s playing and exploring.

Our Pedagogy (How We Teach)

We largely use the constructivist approach whilst also combining a mix of all 5 pedagogical approaches…

  • Constructivist approach…” We encourage our children to take an active role in their learning process, using their previous knowledge as a foundation for understanding new concepts”.
  • Collaborative approach… “We equip our children with the tools to interact and share knowledge and experiences with each other.”
  • Reflective approach… “Reflecting as a group enables us to evaluate our setting, activities and opportunities with our children’s voices being at the heart of decision making.
  • Integrative approach… “Providing our children with opportunities to link the world around them through environmental walks, visitors to our setting, forest schools and role play, keeps them engaged with their unique learning.”
  • Enquiry-based approach… “Sustained shared thinking, presenting questions and scenarios, equips our children with the tools to explore and investigate, becoming co-researchers in our setting.

Our Curriculum

Is a progressive curriculum, where we build upon what our unique children already know, to support, challenge and extend their learning.
